Hopelink offers gas reimbursement for Medicaid eligible clients as an option to cover costs for getting to and from your medical appointment. If a client transports to a medical appointment and is eligible for transportation via their Benefit Service Package they can take advantage of the gas reimbursement program at the rate of 35 cents per mile. Clients do not have to be the drivers themselves. They can be a friend, family member, or case manager.

How does it work?
To receive services, you can call Hopelink’s Transportation Reservation Hotline or fax us. To setup your account, we will need you to provide us your trip details including your nine-digit Medicaid ID number also known as the Provider 1 number.

Your PEX card and checks will be mailed to the address you provide when you call in your appointments. You will want to ensure the address you provide is safe and secure.
You should call in for mileage reimbursement before your appointment. You can call as early as the 15th of the current month for next month’s trips. For trips that were in the past, you can call in up to the 7th of the current month for last month’s trips.
Please allow 8-10 business days from when you submit your trips to receive the funds on your PEX Card. There are times we may need to speak with the medical facility before we can load funds onto your card. If we’re unable to contact the facility, this could contribute to potential delays. Business days are Monday to Friday unless there is a holiday.

Your gas cards will be sent with a letter that gives the number of trips and total dollar amount available on your PEX gas card in the envelope. This will occur the first time you receive the card. Since you will keep this card indefinitely for all future gas card trips, you can check your funds on the card by calling 1-866-685-0898. You can also call Hopelink at the number provided in this letter for specific trip details.
